The Fire Island Lighthouse was an important landmark for transatlantic ships coming into New York Harbor at the turn of the last century. For many European immigrants, the Fire Island Light was their first sight of land upon arrival in America.

A visit to the lighthouse offers miles of hiking trails, a glimpse of the keeper’s quarters, and exhibits on the history of the park and lighthouse. The 180-foot stone and brick lighthouse began operating in 1858 and contains historic stones from a previous lighthouse.

The boat had great amenities and was super clean.

Our boat was just the right size and the staff made the day amazing. The prices were extremely reasonable for what you got. I wouldn’t recommended chartering for any less than 4 hours. You won’t want to leave. I can’t wait to go back.
